"Agriculture can energise us, industry
can enrich us, knowledge may enlighten us, but spiritual power elevates us." -- L.K. Advani, India's
Leader of the Opposition
* * * One has not
seen but only read or heard about Swami Vivekananda, an idol for Indian youth and the most famous disciple of the
20th century God-realised saint and spiritual giant, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.
Fortunately, one has heard and met with Swami Mukundananda, one of the disciples of the God-realised poet-saint Jagadguru Krupalu-ji Maharaj
Swami Mukundananda (ex IIT, IIM, Tatas), one is
inclined to believe, may well emerge as an icon of the spiritually-inclined Hindu-minded people in the 21st
century.
Swamiji delivered the eleven discourses
at the Senpaga Vinayagar Temple, off Ceylon Road, Singapore, from 26 April to 07 May 2003. (Swamiji repeated the discourses in July-August 2006, at Sri Srinivas Temple premises, off Serangoon Road, Singapore.)
The two series were marked by lucid, in-depth
explanations of complex points in the Scriptures, and sought to reconcile apparent contradictions and confusion in certain
topics.
The Message: God-realisation and Divine Love are the True Goals of life in human form. One can go about
discharging worldly responsibilities even as one pursues the Real Goals. Bhakti (single-minded
devotion) is the prerequisite for attaining the Twin Goals. Bhakti can
be attained only through the grace of a God-realized guru.
